First Impression
Rustic, elegant, early American barn.
Drinks
Water is terrible. You poor people in Avon. I can’t believe you have to drink that crap. I digress, Strip’s Signature Manhattan, a Manhattan with a Grand Marnier reduction, tasted like cinnamon. Very good drink but not a Manhattan. The luxardo cherries were a home run. The Striptini was way too sweet and sharp at the same time.
Food
The peanut butter “butter,” one of three butters that come with the awesome bread sticks, is actually butter with peanut butter reduction (I’m assuming.) Very interesting. The traditional butter was freaking awesome. The lobster bisque was not bad, but not the best. Au gratin potatoes, not a fan, they’re just potatoes with cheese on them. They should be called cheesy potatoes. So if you’re expecting au gratin, you’re not getting them. Brussel sprouts with onion and bacon were blackened. Dinner for two: filet, two sides, soup and salad. We ordered two medium temperature filet steaks. One was great, however the other was basically raw and had a bad texture to it. Sent it back, it took forever and came back overcooked and still didn’t taste right. It had a funny texture. So the dinner for two comes with one desert and we chose the raspberry cobbler, which absolutely made up for the subpar dinner. It was fantastic especially with the local Mitchell’s vanilla ice cream.
Service
Outstanding. The waiter was the most awesome guy. He made up for some of the not so great food.
Atmosphere
Nice atmosphere. Rustic environment.
Parking
Parking is close by.
Conclusion
Not impressed with food…Not a good value. The service was outstanding. The location is in the old Avon Village, the cutest little old town looking mini Crocker Park. You have to check it out.
